First Impression

The BlitzWolf BW-FWC6 10W Qi Wireless Fast Charger Stand is for those who need immediate access to their phones. But who also wish to keep its battery topped off. The titled stand allows the phone to be in a more natural position than a lay flat charger. The usual downside to this is the phone has to be standing tall. But that’s where the dual coil design comes in. With a coil near the top and bottom of the stand a phone can be set lengthwise for video. And still maintain a connection to the charger.

The charging stand itself is fairly light. I wouldn’t call it ideal for charging given its size and shape. But you wouldn’t notice it in your bag. Its rubberized feet lock in better with the weight of a phone on the stand. Making it much more difficult to skid while a phone is in place.

An LED going around the bottom of the base. Providing a visible, but not direct glow to or show charging status. Pulsing green means charging, while solid green means fully charged. Though with some Android phones the light may turn off when fully charged.

To activate wireless charging simply place your phone. It can work in whatever orientation you place it in. But how much of a charge your phone receives will depend on the USB-A power source the stand is connected to.

 

Regular USB-A Charger

A regular USB-A charger will only allow for up to 5W through the wireless charger officially. My testing showed it could get up to 6W. But your phone may not actually draw that much. That is considered the minimum for wireless chargers. It is enough to charge your phone overnight.

A Quick Charge compatible charger can provide the charging stand with up to 15W. Which in turn allows the wireless charger to offer 10W or more to your phone. Officially 10W is the output limit. But my testing showed it can get up to 12W, if the phone allows.

A 10W wireless charger will take about an hour less time than a 5W wireless charger. And will outperform a 5W USB charger, like the iPhone’s. All phones will get a faster charge using a fast charging wired option over wireless. But with this stand you’ll get the best performance with wireless. Provided it is connected to a Quick Charge compatible USB charger.

The benefit of wireless charging is convenience. You don’t need an extra cable. The phone is in a more user friendly position. And you don’t need to plug/unplug it.

Summary

The BlitzWolf BW-FWC6 10W Qi Wireless Fast Charger Stand only works with newer phones with wireless charging support. But it offers several options for those phones. The stand itself is tilted at 60°, allowing for easier viewing of the screen from your chair or bed. It has two charging coil underneath its surface. The top coil is tall, to accommodate a phone standing up. The bottom coil is wide, to better support a phone on its side. As such your can stand up your phone for reading. Or on its side for video.

The charger supports up to 10W output officially. But I saw up to 12W output during my testing. Ultimately it is up to your phone to determine how much power it wants to draw. The 10W output is only available if the charger is connected to a Quick Charge USB-A charger. Or a QC compatible USB charger. For regular USB-A the wireless charger will work. But will be limited to 5-6W output.

The charger will work with some phone cases. Any plastic cases which are 8mm thick or less won’t be a problem. As with any wireless charger do not use it if your phone’s case is metal. Or if it contains a magnet (car mount). Or if it doubles as a wallet and contains keys or credit cards.

The bottom facing LED lights up the underneath of the base to or show charge status. In a dark bedroom you’ll see a pulsing green glow when your phone is in place. And the glow does not shutoff automatically with iPhones.
