Fast Chargers for Motorola Phones

Phone battery life has not improved at the same rate as other features. Having an extra charger at work or a power bank in your bag is handy. And with the right USB charger you can fast charge your Motorola phone up to 50% in 30 minutes.

This guide will help you get the charger and cable needed to fast charge these USB-C equipped Motorola phones:

  • Motorola Moto G6
  • Motorola Moto G7
  • Motorola One

Fast Charging Motorola Phones

Motorola uses their own fast charging standard: TurboPower. It is essentially a weak version of Quick Charge 3.0. It works with the same power profiles. But only supports up to 15W.

Moto phones include a 15W TurboPower charger. It can be either USB-A charger with a USB-C to USB-A cable. Or a USB-C charger with a built-in USB-C cable. Either one provides fast charging to the Moto phone. You can buy the USB-C version. But the design is not travel friendly, as a wall wart with a built-in cable.

Motorola USB-C phones work well with Quick Charge 3.0 chargers. Which provide for a lot more options, many at a lower cost. Moto phones do not fast charge with Anker’s PowerIQ 2.0 chargers. They also don’t fast charge with Quick Charge 3.0 over USB-C. You want to stick with Quick Charge 3.0 over USB-A.
