The AUKEY PA-Y13 46W PD Charging Station is a multi-port desktop charger. It isn’t designed to unplug and go, like a wall charger. Instead it provides a fixed charging spot for several devices at once. Including the Nintendo Switch. Despite some of the pictures on Amazon it isn’t made to stand up. You keep it on its side. If the AUKEY logo is facing up then the labels on the USB ports will also be right side up. This means you will be plugging in USB cables “sideways” compared to what you’re use to. It can balance on its edge, but not well enough to deal with a cable tug. The port labels are glossy black on matte black, so hard to read. The orange port supports Quick Charge, and also works with non-QC devices. The USB-C port is the small one.

Desktop Charger vs Wall Charger
The Nintendo Switch AC Adapter and the charger your phone came with are wall chargers. They plug right into a wall outlet. With folding prongs and a detachable cable they are easy to pack and carry around. The AUKEY PA-Y13 46W PD Charging Station is a desktop charger. They are larger, support more ports, and come with a separate power cord. While you could wrap it up and toss it into a bag, they do best staying in one place.
Use a desktop charger in places where you need to charge several USB devices at once. Your living room, where everyone wants to plug in. Or an office desk, charging the laptop and phone from one outlet. For the Switch consider the bedroom, where it can charge your Switch and phone overnight. Or even use it with the Switch’s dock by the TV. This charger’s USB ports will charge phones much faster than those on the Switch’s dock. It won’t charge your Pro Controller any faster, as the controller has limited input.
The AUKEY PA-Y13 46W PD Charging Station is a flexible solution for charging different devices at once. It’ll handle any USB-C device, up to a 13-inch laptop and including the Nintendo Switch dock. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0 devices. And of course it’ll charge any regular USB device, including all smartphones.
Like other multi-port chargers it has a max total output: 74.5W. Unlike many other multi-port chargers, that max allows all three ports to reach their max. The USB-C PD can get up to 46W. The regular USB-A can get up to 10.5W. And the Quick Charge USB-A can get up to 18W. This means you don’t need to worry about balancing the load. Plug in what you want and each port will maximize the charge.
The included power cord gives you 3.8 feet of reach from the charger’s location to a wall outlet. With a 6 foot USB-C cable that is nearly 10 feet of reach from the Switch to the outlet. That could be useful for those with wall outlets in less than desirable places.
This isn’t a charger you’d buy to travel with. There are 2 and 3 port chargers available with folding prongs which pack easier and lighter. This is for households where your Switch gets unplugged to charge a phone. Or work spaces where several devices compete for charge time.
AUKEY has U.S. based support contacts (web and email) and warranty service. You must have purchased the product either from them or through Amazon for support.
The AUKEY PA-Y13 46W PD Charging Station is a flexible charger for a fixed spot. It can power the Nintendo Switch and charge your phones by the TV, or by your bed. Or keep your Switch and laptop topped off on your desk.
