Best Fast Chargers for iPad Pro

AUKEY PA-Y19 Minima 30W and ZMI zPower Turbo 65W USB-C PD

The iPad Pro is capable of charging at a faster rate than its included wall charger allows. The iPad Pro models with Lightning can support up to 29W. But some included a USB-A charger only capable of 12W. The iPad Pros with USB-C can support up to 30W and included an 18W USB-C charger. Here I list the best fast chargers for the iPad Pro. Each capable of meeting their full charge rate. With some being smaller, cheaper, and/or more travel friendly than the charger Apple included.

Fast Charging iPad Pro

The iPad Pro (Lightning) supports both USB Power Delivery (USB PD) and Apple 2.4A. If yours came with a USB-A charger then that is using Apple 2.4A. If you have a USB-C charger then that is using USB PD. Apple 2.4A has a limit of 12W, but USB PD can go up to 29W with the iPad Pro (Lightning).

The iPad Pro (USB-C) also supports both USB Power Delivery (USB PD) and Apple 2.4A. Its USB-C charger offers 18W USB PD. But the iPad Pro (USB-C) can go up to 30W USB PD with a higher output charger.

USB-C to Lightning Cable

The iPad Pro (Lightning) will need to use a USB-C to Lightning cable to connect with a USB-C PD charger.

Find a good selection of USB-C to Lightning cables here. All listed cables are MFi certified by Apple. Meaning they meet Apple’s standards and testing to work with iPhones and iPads. Pick your cable based on length, color, and price.

USB-C to USB-C Cable

The iPad Pro (USB-C) will need to use a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect with a USB-C PD charger. Such a cable was included with these model iPad Pros. But you may want to buy a new one to keep with your new charger.

Find a good selection of USB-C cables here. Stick with USB 2.0 cables. They offer as fast a charge rate at a lower cost.

Best Fast Chargers for iPad Pro

These fast chargers offer a single USB-C port and can reach the 30W max power draw rate of all iPad Pro models. They will be among the smallest and lightest options.

Anker PowerPort Atom PD 1

Anker's smallest 30W USB-C PD charger, available in either black or white. To reach its small size Anker kept the prongs fixed, not folded. If safety is a top concern for you its USB-IF certification should provide comfort.

Apple 30W USB-C Power Adapter

Apple's own 30W USB-C PD charger, which replaced their 29W model. Using Apple's own charger would lessen any support issues. But it is also the largest and most expensive option on this list.

Dual USB

These fast chargers offer two USB ports. Allowing you to charge an iPad Pro alongside another device. While larger these could provide a better option if you travel with several devices.

Anker PowerPort Atom PD 2

A dual USB-C charger. It can handle up to 60W output total, but it is normally split evenly between the two ports. Allowing two iPad Pros to be fast-charged at once. Or an iPad Pro and an iPhone, a 12-inch MacBook, or MacBook Air.

  • Ports: USB-C x2
  • Output: 60W USB-C PD single port, 30W USB-C PD dual port
  • GaN tech
  • Size: 2.7 x 2.7 x 1.1 in | 6.2 oz

One Charger To Rule Them All

A promise of USB-C is the ability for one charger to handle all your devices, big or small. This charger goes up to 65W in output. Making it compatible with the iPad Pro, as well as the iPhone (or many Androids) and your MacBook laptop.

My favorite one charger fits all option. It has the output to support phones, tablets, and all but the largest laptops. It is not much larger than the 30W chargers listed above. All while priced closer to a phone charger, with a USB-C cable included.

  • Ports: USB-C
  • Output: 65W USB-C PD
  • Includes USB-C to USB-C cable
  • Size: 2 x 2 x 1.1 in | 3.4 oz
