Nintendo Switch Poke Ball Plus Drop & Charge Stand

Poke Ball Plus Drop Charge Stand

Poke Ball Plus Drop Charge Stand

For those planning to get Pokemon: Let’s Go and the Poke Ball Plus should take a look at this convenient charger. The Nintendo Switch Poke Ball Plus Drop & Charge Stand from HORI. A simple and good looking charge location for the special Pokemon controller. A regular USB-C cable will also charge the Poke Ball Plus. But with its round shape the charge stand will keep it from rolling around. It should also provide to be easier to connect and disconnect compared to a loose cable.

The Poke Ball Plus has a USB-C port for charging. It can charge several ways:

  • Nintendo Switch Poke Ball Plus Drop & Charge Stand
  • Nintendo Switch AC Adapter, direct connection
  • Nintendo Switch Dock, using a USB-C to USB-A cable connected one of the dock’s USB ports
  • Third Party USB-C Charger, using a USB-C to USB-C cable
  • Third Party USB-A Charger, using a USB-C to USB-A cable

We don’t know if the Poke Ball Plus includes any USB-C cable. The Pro Controller and Joy-Con Charging Grip both include a USB-C to USB-A cable.

We also don’t know the power profile details of the charge stand or Poke Ball Plus. But I expect it’ll be 5V/0.5A. That’s the power profile the Pro Controller and Joy-Cons both use. It is also the limit of the dock’s USB 2.0 ports (side ports). With such a low power profile any USB-C or USB-A charger will work with the Poke Ball Plus, with the proper cable. But again, the charge stand should prove easier to work with. And a lot more attractive.

The Nintendo Switch Poke Ball Plus Drop & Charge Stand is available for pre-order now for $19.99. It’ll release on November 16, the same as Pokemon: Let’s Go.

Additional Accessories

Other Pokemon: Let’s Go accessories are also available. Like the Poke Ball Plus charge stand, they are available for pre-order and will release on November 16.
