The power adapter included with any Samsung Galaxy S20 provides up to 25W fast charging. The fastest rate for the Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+. It isn’t the most travel-friendly design, given its size and fixed prongs. The best fast chargers for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series can charge it from 0-70% in about 30 minutes. But those are rare and expensive. You may want to settle for a “second best” model that can still offer a 0-50% charging in about 30 minutes. With better selection and price.

Baseus 65W Three-Port Mini and ZMI zPower USB-C and Dual USB-A for the Samsung S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra
Fast Charging Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra all support Programmable Power Supply (PPS). This is a newer technology, part of (but not always included with) USB Power Delivery 3.0 (USB PD). It allows for small, step-wise changes in voltage and current. This reduces conversion loss during charging. The power transfer is more efficient and lithium batteries endure less heat. Giving them longer lifespans. It also offers a wider selection of voltages and currents. Allowing for faster-charging rates where similar voltage or current limits would not. The result is charging the S20 phones full in as little as an hour.
A USB PD charger without PPS does not support this wider range of voltages. And so when connected to such a charge the S20 series falls back to old standards found on older Samsung phones.
- Samsung Galaxy S20: 25W PPS (3.3-11V/2.25A)
- Samsung Galaxy S20+: 25W PPS (3.3-11V/2.25A)
- Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra: 45W PPS (3.3-11V/4.05A)
There is only a 5-6 minute charge time difference between the 25W charger and the 45W charger. Largely because devices don’t charge at their max rate for long. As the battery charges the power draw is reduced. The charge speed difference is most pronounced from 0-20%. And almost non-existent from 80-100%.
A 45W USB PD charger without PPS would only charge these phones around 15W.
The charger included with all Samsung Galaxy S20 models is a 25W USB PD with PPS.

USB-C Cable
You’ll need a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect your Samsung Note 10 to a charger. But which type of charger you will dictate what type of USB-C cable you’ll need.
- 45W PPS Charger = USB-C to USB-C cable with support for 5A/100W
- 25W PPS Charger = USB-C to USB-C cable, any spec
- USB PD Charger w/o PPS = USB-C to USB-C cable, any spec
Most USB-C to USB-C cables only support 3A/60W. That’s enough for the majority of USB-C devices, from older Samsung phones to mid-size laptops. It also works with the 25W PPS charger, as it doesn’t go beyond 3A current.
The 45W PPS charger works by outputting up to 11V/4A. You need a USB-C cable rated to work with that increased current (4A vs 3A). Such cables include an eMarker. A chip that allows the cable to communicate with a device and charger, letting them know it can work with higher than usual specifications. In this case more power. If no eMarker is found (as with most 3A cables) then a charge can drop to a slower rate. Or refuse to charge at all.
Find a good selection of both types of USB-C cables here.
Again, if planning to use a 45W PPS enabled charger to get a cable that supports 5A/100W.
Otherwise, any USB-C to USB-C cable will work for you. You can stick with USB 2.0 cables. Which provide the same charging performance at a lower price.
